December 2005
It's backwards. Deal with it.
December 30 2005 - Friday
It's too hot. I've had the first sleepless nights I think I've had in years. And it's so hot, I can't even lie properly.
This year's mediocre Christmas matched up quite well to my mediocre expectations. All's well that ends well, whatever the heck that means.
I've changed the stylesheet of the site, so that active link styles have been converted to hover link styles. It looks cooler, but the flipside is that the stylesheet is no longer CSS1 compliant. Meh, like it ever was in the first place.
Nothing new content-wise, but after the heat dies down in a week or so, I'll be pushing to convert the site to PHP! This should eliminate the repeated code that appears, well, on every page of the site. It should make it infinitely easier to add links, new sections and whatnot. It doesn't even have to be complex either! The only problem is that since I don't have a local server, I can't test anything until it's uploaded to the Spherical server. Oh well, a few include statements isn't anything particularly challenging.
There are a couple of new quotes being served up by the quote script too.
Once converted to PHP, I'll include info on my latest mini RPG effort: Glob's Colourful Adventure. I believe it's bad luck to reveal too much info on a project before it's done, so I'll keep it under wraps until I've something worth showing.
PS: New year's resolution? To fulfill this year's resolutions.
December 23 2005 - Friday
The temperatures over here in Australia have been unreasonable. We're going to fry through Christmas, with an average of 30 degrees Celsius to deal with. It's been so hot and dry that a fire ban has been declared through NSW. That doesn't really rile me, so long as the heat dies down some.
What does rile me, however, is Channel Seven's decision to stop airing repeats of Scrubs. For the past few weeks, I've been living on the humour that this wonderful show about a few young doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital has brought to me, both in the past years and recently. Today was the last episode that I'll see for what will probably be many months... or ever, depending on how bad my luck runs. And since uni is more than two months away, I'm going to have to deal with heat and get by without Scrubs.
In site news, I've put some screenshots and information in the Sphere Demos section. The downloads themselves aren't available, but give me a couple of days and things will be handled. I've also gone ahead and repaired the links in the Scrubs quotes I put in my quotes file, so now they actually link to the official website.
::UPDATE::
I've finished the Sphere Demos section, screenshots and all. It's really rather pretty. The Sphere Modules will follow soon after.
December 20 2005 - Tuesday
Well, after several weeks of idle nothing, I've decided that Perl wasn't quite the direction I wanted to head in. I know exactly what I want out of this place. I think.
The main site is coming up first. Not much to it, just these updates, and the same craptastic page that was here before. Much more coming soon, I'm working real hard, see.
Yeah, holidays are boring, but I need the rest.
