Yeah, the scroll bar really does work

This is a Sphere start-up game: it presents the games list when you fire up the Sphere engine. Winner of one of the Sphere start-up game compos way back when (huzzah!)

The Spheriki page about the project has more info.

  • Some extra preferences inside gamelist.js
  • Backgrounds in the images directory, so they can be changed as desired
  • Pressing backspace no longer affects the list if the filter is empty
  • Game info panel scales with screen size
  • Shift can be used to type symbols into the filter
  • Options box matches game info box visually
  • Page up and page down can be used to scroll the list by pages

In the original version:

  • View complete information about any selected game
  • Switch between 320x240 and 640x480 resolutions
  • Sort games by title or author
  • Shiny animations and a custom menu with scrollbar
  • And of course, branded with the Sphere logo

Usage

Trying it out

Just put the game in the standard Sphere games/ directory and play it as normal.

Using it

At the time of writing, this is the standard Sphere startup game. However, if that changes, you can switch the Sphere/startup/ directory with the one in the download.

Downloads

This already comes with Sphere up to versions 1.5 (possibly higher), but if you're interested in the archive files anyway, here they are.
